The CWA is the largest women's organisation in Australia, with over 25,000 members in 1500 branches. It aims to improve conditions for women and children living in remote and rural Australia, especially in the areas of health, welfare and education. It is based on friendship, self-development and service, and members come from all walks of life and are women of all ages. The Mt Beauty & District CWA aims to help organise and support schemes for the benefit of members and the community, promote friendship and welcome newcomers to the district, and encourage members and their families to develop personal skills. Meetings are held once a month. Membership for 2009 is $46. All interested ladies with all areas of interest most welcome!
