The Kiewa Valley Historical Society Inc. is a community organization that is the guardian, collector, protector and interpreter of the history, artefacts and memories of the Kiewa Valley, providing and promoting access to the local and wider community.
Museum — located at the Mount Beauty Visitor Information Centre – 31 Bogong High Plains Road, Mount Beauty.
Opening hours — are 7 days per week, 9 am to 5 pm (except Christmas Day).

When visiting the museum you will see its history interpreted through the display of artefacts and information.
We have four permanent displays:
- The First Peoples of the Kiewa Valley and the Bogong High Plains
- Kiewa Valley Cattlemen and Women and their High Plains’ Huts
- Cross Country Skiing on Mt Bogong and the High Plains
- The Kiewa Hydro Electric Scheme and the towns it created – Mount Beauty & Bogong
The diverse social history of the people from the Kiewa Valley is told through a series of rotating exhibitions.
